Have you noticed that not many people on YouTube talk about intermittent fasting without keto? This was brought up in the comments on one of my recent videos and I felt like it was a topic worthy of discussion. When it comes to intermittent fasting vs. keto, does one work without the other? Do you need to do both?
Despite so many YouTubers out there doing a combination of both the keto diet and intermittent fasting, I explain in this video why it’s not only unnecessary to combine them both, but it can actually increase your risk for a condition called ketoacidosis.

I’m not trying to persuade people to eat a certain way or avoid the keto diet. What I am doing is trying to lay out the evidence and explain why intermittent fasting without keto can still be very beneficial. In a nutshell, complex carbs are healthy and good for balancing hormone production, and intermittent fasting (even with carbs) can still help you eat in a caloric deficit, which is 100% necessary if weight loss is your goal. Also, there’s evidence that the HFLC keto diet can lead to ketoacidosis.
I hope you enjoy the change in scenery. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to drop a like if the video was interesting and helpful to you!
