This apple crisp without oats is the perfect fall dessert! Delicious cinnamon apples with a buttery crumble topping. 

Ingredients

  • 56 cups diced apples – Honeycrisp works best! (approx 5 apples)
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 Tbsp brown sugar – depending how sweet your apples are
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 Tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, combine your apples (they should be diced fairly small) with lemon juice, vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon and stir to combine.
  3. Pour apples into a 9×9 pan.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt with cold, cubed butter.
  5. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut butter into small pea-sized crumbles.
  6. Pour flour mixture over the top of the apples.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
